I'm wondering if I could use my Ruger 22 lr suppressor for reduced power loads on a 22-250? Ruger rates the suppressor as being good for 5.7x28 and 22 hornet full power loads. I am very interested in working up a trail boss load with a cast or thin jacket varmint bullet for use in varmint hunting. Has anyone ever done this?

Probably, but why?  it's kinda silly to spend all the time and effort loading subsonic .224 centerfires when subsonic .22 LR will accomplish the same small game hunting tasks.  You're not gonna do anything with a 50 gr. V-max @ 1050 that CCI Suppressor 45 gr. won't except make more noise burning more powder to do it.

Really wanting to duplicate 5.7 ballistics in a rifle that I already own. I don't have a centerfire can yet

OK, but that won't be subsonic.  5.7 and .22 hornet out of rimfire cans still have a pretty healthy pop.  So does .22 WMR.

Yeah, you could load some heavies at ~1,000 FPS and generate more kinetic energy than .22 LR subs, but it's still not gonna make small critters any deader.  A 69 or 75 gr. .224 bullet at that velocity is an ice pick.  A 45 gr lead HP at the same speed will do more damage.

22 magnum is probably in my best interest here. Factory threaded 22 mag rifles are scrace in my area. I see that Savage has a threaded B22 and a rebate right now..... Might go that route before I damage my can and waste alot of time.

The CMR-30 shows up at PSA fairly regularly.

Can the cmr-30 be used with a suppressor?

The barrel is threaded 1/2x28 and I've never heard any reason you can't.

Absolutely.  I have an SBR'd one with my 1.3" x 4" Mini Max can on it

Makes for a fun range toy.  Only downside is that there's quite a bit of gas seepage out of the receiver after a few rounds, and it goes right up your nose and into your eyes.

Probably outside the warranty.

I cannot see how a 40 grain 22LR @1000fps is any different than a 40 grain 22-250 @1000fps. So I would try it. But I would not go with any bullets heavier or faster than that.

I don't think you are thinking this through. The .22-250 is designed to stabilize these bullets in the 3500 fps region, and running a 40 gr pill at 1,000 fps through this barrel will not stabilize it. Further, the burn rate and pressures in downloaded centerfire rifle cartridges can vary with where the powder is in the case at the moment of firing. In 5.56, there have been issues of not enough pressure to expand the case to obturate the chamber resulting in the bullet getting stuck.
