Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about new to me scorpion

Recently got my scorpion, used, and I'm not really clear on what I am working with exactly.

This is the comp that the previous owner had installed. He didn't run suppressed. It's a Jmac RRD-2C.

But I'm not sure what the collar is installed behind it. Can anyone tell me for sure? Is it just a thread protector?

Just trying to determine which suppressor to order that will mount easily. Thanks

Messed with it some more. I guess it is simply a thread protector.

The little spring tab mounted to the barrel is something I've not seen before lol. Makes sense now.
