I don't like Facebook, don't use it, but I like to hear Larry's unique perspective and experience on things, especially rare Hk stuff he has used. This Q&A brought up something I haven't seen mentioned in maybe 20 years, the Hk SMG II. He confirmed that The Unit actually had some, and that one particular Operator really preferred it for aircraft assaults. Watch from the 53:00 mark. Pics of SMG I and II:

I was fortunate to see an SMG I at the 18B course at Bragg. It was cute, but no spare parts and no mags were to be had, so it was strictly a show and tell toy for VIP's visits. The can was big and heavy and the plastic magazine felt fragile. That's all I can remember for 25 years ago. I wasn't really into guns back then and much more concerned about the pile testable guns.
