Any recommendations on mount that will hold zero well.

Mounting a Swarovski 10X42 if that matters.

GGG-1197

Full disclosure: GGG says "Not recommended for .50 BMG or lightweight machine guns." but anecdotal evidence suggests that if tightened down firmly they may be fine on the M82A1 family.

Any LaRue scope mount, but I have this one specifically made for the 50 cal and love it.

LaRue makes really nice stuff but I highly encourage trying their lever system first... I personally didn’t care for the cam and effort needed to install/remove (not on the 50 even, only their 2-lever mount) and ended up selling mine. Obviously personal preference but I do suggest trying one somewhere you can mount/dismount it per LaRue’s instructions on correct tightness before dropping $300 on one. YMMV and all that.

Bobro Engineering Dual Lever Mount is intended for large/heavy optics and high recoil.

Not intended to be used with light weight rails like shown below.

Actually both Bobro and Larue mounts can be damaged by lightweight rails like that.

Tested with single GGG and it failed rather quickly with large scope.  It "tapped out" in one day.

It may hold up if (2) were placed together, each bearing the load of (1) scope ring, but that combo did not interest me.

Very interesting @Indrid-Cold - and a bummer to hear!

What gun? What was the failure manifestation? Did you go through the tension adjustment called for in the GGG instructions?

I use the Midwest industries heavy duty 3 lever mount on my M82a1. It’s even holding a big heavy
Burris XTR II scope!
