This may work for WW2 year firearms, but is most likely to find records on firearms manufactured prior to WW2. Stock disc or Civil Guard numbers are best.

He just got back to me on one of my 28/30s. Turns out it has a pretty cool history. It was privately funded by a Civil Guardsman and he used it for 5 years. Then he loaned it to another Guardsman who took it to the Winter War. Then it was returned to the original owner in 1941 and he took it himself into the Continuation War. Good luck finding that kind of provenance on any other milsurp!

Just incredible. I had read accounts oh his work succeeding, and being capable of that level of detail. Mythical provenance level for a milsurp rifle. The K31 ID tags compare, but not really. Congratulations.

I did read of one account of a rifle he had researched - the Civil Guardsman connected with it lasted one day on the front of the Continuation War. The rifle was reassigned.

Yep. The owner of mine was a very wealthy Finn and a cousin of the president of Finland at the time of the war.
