I happen to be scouting locally and came upon an MCX Pistol, I think its like 2015-16 time frame.  10 or 11" 300 blackout.  This is Pre rattler, Pre Virtus.

I've read of problems with rifles, not so much with pistols, although they clearly share same parts.  

Does Sig still support these? Is there a source for hand-guards? Say if I wanted a fat one for a suppressor to slip inside the hand-guard?

Is there anything to look for? or run away?

I'd buy it myself if the price is good. Say $1100-1300 if it's not the Hybrid model on an AR receiver. If it is a hybrid, I'd try to get it for under $1k, but that's just me. Unless it's a hybrid with the Virtus barrel and transitional handguard/upper.

MCX receivers are going for killer prices right now (while Sig decides to not make them, they must hate money).

If it's a transitional upper with the complete transitional receiver/upper, let me know.

CDNN has a shit ton of handguards for it.

I actually prefer the original MCX. Mostly due to the weight and because they can take the Lancer carbon fiber handguards. Pretty much the only aftermarket hanguard I really liked for the MCX
