In the AA line since it meters so well in my Hornady LNL. And seems to be readily available

Is there a single powder for both? Maybe I'm just hoping and coming up short.

Thanks

I'm sure others will chime in but I just picked up my first pound of AA #7 to test out in 10mm.

I use Power Pistol and Blue Dot but I know others use AA 7 and 9 with good results.

Ive had good experience with BE-86 for jacketed Bullets in .40.  I see no reason it would not work for plated equally well.

Thanks guys.

Bowmanch, I've used AA2 in the past but wound up with a blown up g29 so I won't be doing that again but one of my shooting buddies uses it for other calibers.

I was hoping for one powder to do it all but I think I'll settle for a powder for each caliber and be safe.

I've used Titegroup in 40 S&W with plated bullets with good results.

When I used to shoot .40 in action pistol, I was using a lot of cast bullets.
I got turned onto WSF by a very knowledgeable fella.
I had great luck with it.  If my memory serves me, I used 5.5gr as a max, which is the starting load for jacketed.
I hovered around 4.9-5.2gr for the most part to meet power factor with cast 180gr.

I'm looking at 10mm loads for 180 grain plated rounds and have a pound recently acquired of Blue Dot, do you remember your recipe?

10gr on the dot with my 180gr HAP’s. Use the same for my 200gr Blue Bullets as well for good 1300fps fun rounds. Shot a two gun natch with them and it was a hoot.

AA5 is THE powder for 40s&w. It’ll work OK in 10mm but won’t get you to the top. Aa9 works great in the 10.

Thanks for the info, I have plated bullets on hand that are supposed to stay below 1250fps, should still be plenty energetic for plinking.  Blue dot seems to be the one of the go to powders for velocity from the limited information I've been able to dig up in my manuals.

What Jupiter7 said.  I use AA5 in .40 SW, which is where I first tried it out.  Mostly 180 grain, plated, cast, FMJ, JHP; I have loads for each.

Then I worked up good, accurate loads with it in .45 ACP.  I have no experience with AA5 in 10mm.
