I was given a low round count 14.5” ar barrel that had been drilled to be pinned & welded. The drill hole was punched into the bore at the threads. Does the drill hole ruin the barrel accuracy? This is a dd chf barrel, so I’d hate to trash the barrel if I can help it

If there's a burr protruding into the bore I'd gently file it away.
Throw a muzzle device on it and pew pew away

I remember reading a similar thread where many said it would trash accuracy.  A few people said they had no real impact to accuracy.  At this point, there is no reason not to try it.

Check to see if their is a burr, then shoot it to see how the accuracy is on it, sometimes they work fine, sometimes not so well, but you won't know until you throw some rounds through it.

I have dealt with a couple of similar situations, I was able to cut and recrown the barrel, turn the tenon back to .600 long and pick up the threads and thread it.
Pin and weld a longer device such as a SureFire.
There will be a gap in the threads but with the pinned device it is irrelevant.

I looked into cut/recrown, but I can buy a brand new barrel for less than ADCO charges for this service.

Well you could counter bore it if you had a lathe.
Run an end mill down the bore past the bad spot.
I did this to a cheap blaster barrel whoes bore was larger in the threaded area than the rest of the bore.
The crown is just recessed more than normal.
Also had a 1903 with a wallered out muzzle that got the same treatment.
Both barrles shoot fine now.
