Am I gonna run into problems here?
I’ve got a flat top receiver so how high do I need to go without running out of dial for getting a proper adjustment?

That front sight post won't cause any problems. But I ran a 1/2" riser under mine to cheek up more comfortable. Perfect with a 200 yard zero. When I ran mine with a front sight post I could sometimes see the outline through the scope, but it never affected shooting or picture. If you use an extra IR, make sure it's attached so it doesn't shine on the post.
