The ring height is .885”, they weren’t listed by low, med, or high.

Thank you. That is my wife’s rifle that was purchased when she was born. 32 years ago, and it still is a tack driver.

I can't take credit for this picture, but it is too good not to post here. Photo is from M1 Garand Enthusiast Facebook group, username is the persons actual name so I can't give him proper credit.

Looks good!  Do I see an early op rod on that gun?  Looks like it has the gentle curve near the handle.  Has it been 'cut' for stress relief where it transitions under the barrel?

Also, are you a lefty?  I noticed you had top round to the left in the en bloc.  Most guys that load with their right hand prefer top round right.

Just put in an order for a JRA M14 this morning. Looking forward to getting a companion to my M1!

The M1 is my absolute favorite rifle to shoot, including the AR.

This followed me home. Born 12-07 with 200 rounds down range. I called SA to get the birthday of the socom and mentioned that the tritium front sight is dim, and the woman put a new one in the mail. Stock configuration with added accessories like a gg&g sling adapter, magpul afg2, and a grip pod.

Finally managed to source an E2 buttplate, completing my stock. Now I'm just waiting to hear back from a friend if he could weld a connector arm onto a faux selector.

Nice!

Is that the rifle's serial number on the E2 stock? Was that common?

Picked up a Garand as part of larger trade.  I've always wanted a Garand.  Rifle is a SA 77xxxx serial number with all SA internals.  Barrel is marked SA 1 51.

I've shoot around 100rds and i'm enjoying it alot.   Rifle is lighter then I thought it would be.  It groups very well, but shoots about 2inches high.  Picture is my first field stirpping.

I put in an adjustable gas plug.  I'm going to pull the front sight to measure it.  Rifle shoots high even with elevation bottomed out.  The OP Rod spring will be replaced the next time I place an order for parts.

E2 is getting there, just need to fill the selector hole. She's a bit hefty compared to my SP1 though...

Get an AMBI dummy selector kit from Sparrowhawk. It’s not cheap but it looks great. I have one on my Polytech M14S and it took about 20 minutes to install, start to finish.

I'd love to, but they won't ship international. I'm waiting on a chap who makes his own faux selector, but failing that I'll get a Fulton Armory one.

Been wanting a Socom 16 for quite awhile. Just never came across the right deal. That all changed a couple weeks ago. Made a deal on a package on a local for sale forum and ran and grabbed it. I couldn’t be happier so far. Shot about 100 rounds of ZQI just to get used to it and I’m hooked. What a fun little rifle. Probably going to sell off all the Vltor stuff and put it into a surplus wood stock. I love the way the wood and steel look together. Anyways, here is the original ad with all the stuff it came with and then how she looks now with her Holosun RDS on top.

Helluva good deal.   You're going to come out pretty good after selling the extra stocks too.  Congrats on a great deal!
