The goggle needs to stow at ~100-110 degrees for up to two seconds to trigger the accelerometer if you have the automatic shutoff enabled.

Depending on the type of helmet, how you wear it, and how you have the tilt adjusted, the goggle could be sitting almost vertically, meaning you will need to tilt the goggle further to trigger the accelerometer.

For this and many other reasons, I don’t tend to trust automatic shutoff functions and typically disable them.
