The PTR PDW A3 stock is the only one commercially made unit I am aware of that will work.

If you have a TIG welder, a blast cabinet, and a way to refinish a stock that you can graft the collapsing PDW recoil rod out of the factory pistol backplate into a standard G3 A3 stock.
It will save you about half the cost via a roll your own assuming you pay ~$350 for a standard A3 stock as a starting point. I made mine years ago this way as the PTR factory version via HKParts didn't exist. If I needed another one today, I would just buy the $700 PTR factory A3 stock as the ~$350 in savings probably isn't worth the time/trouble to make your own. |
