So I had a gunsmith cut down my barrel for my sbr PS90. I bought the cmmg barrel thread adaptor to go on my barrel so I can thread 1/2x28 suppressors on it. He put a spacer shim on the barrel so there is no play or wobble. Is this a good idea. He said it would help with accuracy. I don’t know anything about this so I was just wondering.

Does it feed/extract/eject reliably?

If so, then it's fine.

I haven't seen that mod done before.
Please report back if you do observe increased precision, or experience any failures.

I've seen others report they eliminated their barrel movement simply by over tightening the nut, and had no problems.

It might help with accuracy, but might hurt in other areas. The ps90 is designed so that the barrel is supposed to move slightly with the bolt under recoil for a very brief moment.
