Ron, do you consider the Spikes gas blocks acceptable for mounting with? Apologies if that causes frustration as it’s a competitors product.

So what do I need to do the Gordon clone upper? I currently have a Colt 723 upper.

Complete upper, will be on a transferable H&R lower receiver that has the rest of the 723 kit on it.

Nice.

M4:  14.5 direct thread on 1/2x28 muzzle threads and a 3 piece collar

AEM5:  12.7 with AE muzzle device and 3 piece collar.

Sweet. I'd say ask Ron about getting on the next list of Gordy cans, if there's going to be one. Then also ask about the collar on pencil barrels or swap your barrel for an m4 cut barrel.

If you're a fan of wasting money you can pick up the can and barrel from Charlie's but that's an extremely bad deal in my opinion. There may be some other vendors selling them too I just haven't seen it yet.

That’s awesome!  Didn’t know transferable H&Rs existed.

His email is:

[email protected]

Just be aware, there’s like a 3% chance he answers your email.  I think his spam filter is blocking a lot.

He has always answered the phone and will talk to you about your project.  One of the best dudes in the industry.

I've been invited to participate in a Podcast. Never done one and I initially said no, but I decided it might be an opportunity to answer some questions people have. Is there an adapter that I can mount an AEM 5 to a 11.5 barrel with fsb? I saw the collar adapter extender but the description says it's for the AEM4, AEM3, and AEM2.

@Rothperson87 @Outrider

What barrel length and gas system? My intention is to use 16.5/rifle with the AE22 but I’m wondering if cutting down and using a .093 gas port is going to be optimal.

16.5 rifle length. It’s a WOA barrel and I measured port at .108

Love the setup, I'm planning on doing something similar with an Allegheny and a URX 3.1 13.5. What buffer/spring do you run, and how's ejection suppressed/unsuppressed with that and say 77gr?

Similar to what I’m setting up. Geissele, chopped ballistic advantage barrel (jealous of the WOA) and Allegheny gas block

That's interesting, I would have expected closer to 13.5-6" for a mid-length. Is that an AEM3 or some other can that might have a shorter reflex length?

Will the future run of M24 suppressors be in 11/16x24 or 5/8x24? Will the Gordon suppressors come with a 3 piece collar or will that be a separate piece? Thank you. As for podcast questions, I would love to hear about some of the most obscure govt entities/agencies/militaries that have purchased OpsInc/AE suppressors provided it's not under NDA.

I run a JP Silent Capture Spring with the lightest spring. It’s a super soft shooter. I haven’t shot it unsuppressed but it eats up IMI Razor Core.

something a little different.

just thrown together for now, but I dig the flush fit with the CASV. Might have to do another 12.5" upper for the aem5

I’m thinking about getting a bolt action for the AEM5.

I’m specifically thinking about a Ruger just because of the price, and I have some parts for it (shares some commonality with the 7.62x39).

Of course I need a 22 caliber for the AEM5.

If I get the barrel off the gun, who to send it to?   Are there a couple of choices?   I hope.

Specifically, I’d like to send the barrel to them and have them install their hardware onto my barrel and then I pay for it all.

Another option is to go higher dollar and integral.

So my aem5 is still in jail but I got to test fire the upper today.

Ballistic advantage rifle length cut to 16” wouldn’t even attempt to cycle with 55g PMC brass.

Anyone care to comment on their perception of back pressure from a 5?

There's a google doc with gas port sizes and I see a 20" BA Modern rifle showing a .087 port. My 16.5 WOA is a .108 for reference. I run the lightest JP silent capture spring and pretty much exclusively shoot 77'ers out of it.

Different setup than yours but my midlength BA with an aem3 had trouble cycling with a Spikes T2(4oz) buffer at first. Switched to a T1(3oz) and lighter buffer spring and she cycles nicely now. Never shot it unsuppressed but I doubt it would get bolt lock on an empty mag w/o the can.

Brian, try here:  Gordon suppressor barrel collar kit  I know, it is still a list.  What I like is these guys have taken the guess work out of "does my barrel fit," and it is pure AEM and not a knock-off.
