Does anyone know what magazine/issue/month/year you could find the original ads? It would be kind of neat to compile a list.

The best ad ever was from the DCM (now the CMP) in 1963 offering surplus M-1 Carbines for $20. I filled out the paperwork and mailed it in. A few weeks later, I went off to Basic Training (U.S.Army).
When I got my first leave several weeks later and got home, I found my reply saying to send in the $20 within 30 days or someone else would get the Carbine. It was dated 40 days before I saw it. My mother said that she thought that it was an advertisement. Such is life. |
