11.5 and 14.5 inch "24 hour" blasters... I'm now an optic riser zealot, worshipping at the alter of the chin weld, repeating the mantra "woe is he who speaks of height over bore, for it is not an issue past seven meters..."

For those that are wondering, if you like the redback one mount height but want to use an eotech, a larue LT101 5/8 inch riser and an EXPS 3-0 will put the center of the EOTech optic window in the same plane as the redback one mount puts the aimpoint micro. I had an EOTech XPS which looked more normal, so I put that on there instead as the window is big enough where you can put the reticle in the top of the window and have the same chin weld.

I do wish the illuminator was a little better on the DBAL-A3s, I got spoiled with PEQ-2s and DBAL-D2s

Much better.  I wanted to like the Surefire switch, but I'm just not a switch guy.  So I picked up the TAPS switch thinking it will probably just end up on the EE for 20% less than I paid and call it a day.  Didn't turn out that way.  Maybe because it mounts directly to little dicks all over my rails  Not sure, but I really like it.

@carmodyh Does your leaf line up with your rear sight, since it sits on the riser?

I like it because the buttons are separated and how do I say this.....counter sunk?  As in, not like other switches where the entire top of the device is the switch. You can grab on to this nice and hard and have little chance of a ND or AD. You have to really want to find those buttons and use them.

Takes a little bit more practice to get fast with it but it’s really way better than anything out there I’ve seen.

The BUIS is mounted to the upper, not on the riser. The BUIS are not functional when the LT101 is mounted. Between the eotech and green vis laser, one has two sighting systems available. Should both of those fail, I would just remove the LT101 and flip up the irons.

Thanks for that, I currently have the LEAF with a Magpul adjustable rear. I have the single spectrum Dbal, so I don’t have a visible laser.
I’ve always wondered if there was enough rail space for that riser with the BUIS. Thanks again.

Relevant pieces: Dbal 9007 single spectrum, wmlx white/IR, ALG 13" V2 rail with (10ish o'clock mlok instead of 9 o'clock) MRO & Super Precision 1.93 mount.

that dbal lever might get snagged pointing forward, because I had to turn it around to get wml bezel to clear the mount.   Activation pads at 10 and 12 o'clock with a clean top rail behind is so comfy.

Lot of different IR illum options.

It's a little awkward to set up the v2 for use without a tapeswitch unless mounting the flashlight much further forward because of issues clearing the mounts/bezels/etc.

Just figured I'd elaborate because some might be wonduring  if these items work together.  I also used a low profile mlok section from arisaka to snug it all in.

There's an IR laser mounted on there, I promise.

Long exposure, two shots, Surefire FA556-212 on a 10.4" HK416 upper (vented).

Not sure if I was aiming with the ATPIAL or EOTech for this photograph to be honest.

No guarantees that it'd fit with what all you have there, but this does fit the Steiner switches perfectly, if you get tired of velcro:
