I understand it's intended use. It may be a personal preference issue, but after running different guns over the years with optics mounted too high for my liking, I find myself spending additional time searching for that reference point in order to get good shots off.

A lower 1/3 is about as tall as I like for daylight tasks. I find it's very easy to get fast, repeatable shots off when I can quickly bring the gun up and have the stock hit home right against my cheek with my eye directly behind the tube.

With tall mounts like this new KAC mount, I find myself doing the same and then having to readjust to bring my head up and off the stock to get inline with the optic. Although, like anything else, I'm sure with enough time spent training with an extended height mount this would eventually become a non-issue.

Can you see anything through that DBAL?

I'd want it mounted on the side.

I can see everything just fine, at 4x there is slight blur in the bottom but any power above that it disappears.

Plus I just slapped the Dbal on there to plink that evening.

Finally went to the local gun club after dark. Figured I've have the range to myself, but a bunch of cops were doing low light training a few bays over. I finally got to practice with my new DBAL A3 in the dark.

Crummy photo of my CWAR-DMR with a PVS-2a on it. Holding a phone up to sentinels is easier in theory than in practice.

Here are all my nod compatible firearms. They're nearly complete. All I need is a TAPS pro switch to finish all of the rigs.
