If you have something strange please share. Pics if possible
Im looking for inspiration for next years stamps. May start hitting up some of the local pawn shops and look for something retro to SBR. Thought a rem pump 30-06 or 308 would throw some sick fireballs with a 10-12" barrel. Ideas..... |

Probably not oddball enough for you, but I think one of the Remington 700p's would be nice to SBR in .300 blackout. https://www.remington.com/sites/default/files/styles/product_gallery_1200/public/product/handgun/galleryimages/96814-700-CP_front_angle_1280px.png View Quote Alternatively, another fun SBR I've always wanted to do is a VZ61 Scorpion, or it's slightly more common modern counterpart, the TP-9. Probably the craziest thing I want to SBR though is a big-bore single shot. Something like a Ruger No.1 in say, .35 Whelen, but with a 12-14in barrel and a full mannlicher stock. A lever gun would work too, just not as hyped about those in general. It'd just be a crazy fun little woods gun. |

I would also like to get a Beretta ARX 100 SBR.

Cool pics guys. Didn’t know the mini fix was a thing.
When I think odd I think older stuff that’s not in production. Boss man has a Winchester 74 22lr sitting in my office. I cleaned it for him about 3 years ago and it’s never left would love to chop it down. I get on various C&R sales pages and think, what would look cool half scale. Found some pics of a members chopped down Mauser and it looked neat. Had a zombie look to it which I’m not in too but the idea of a chopped down old bolt gun did look cool. |

First time I've seen wood and a salvo. I think I would like it better without the bright colors in the side saddle.

I like chopped up shotguns with wood furniture. Need to find some wood furniture for my 870sbs. Anyone here know if anyone has sbr one of the Remington pump rifles? Their are always 10 or so of them to choose from at the pawn shop I check in with. Usually around $200 or so. Think a Amish assault weapon would look cool cut down with a single port brake. I see lever actions done quite frequently and just can not get into them. A TC encore would look cool. And have the benefits of changing barrels for various calibers. |

I did a Contender. https://i.imgur.com/nfufx9Z.jpg Also have a short custom Remington 700 in 300 blk and a chopped factory barrel Mossberg MVP in 5.56. Read somewhere a guy did a contender in 32short or 38 short colt and shot it suppressed and used it as a squirrel getter. Ever since then thought that was a cool idea. |

Wouldn't call this "oddball," but it's definitely chopped up. My Remington 870 with a 10" barrel and the mag tube shortened to hold 3+1. https://i.postimg.cc/c4tBZw9Q/658-D7-FDA-0-EA1-4523-A15-B-B1-A799039-CCD.jpg View Quote |

I do like it. I'm not shooting it much these days though. My son is 8 and we are spending most of our trigger time with our custom CZ455s that we suppress. I've got threaded .30-30 and .22lr barrels for it right now. Not threaded 357 mag, 44 mag, and some odd ball .25 cal barrel. I like shooting full power 44 mag stuff through it with the stock on there. I've been meaning to get the 357 barrel chopped and threaded and try some sub-sonic stuff with it. CHRIS View Quote Did you start with a rifle or pistol? |

Pistol and a .30-30 barrel. It was a beast after I got it threaded and screwed my old SWR Omega 30 on it.

I have an H&R Handi-rifle in .357 that I’m sending the barrel off to be threaded. Should be quiet and fun with 38’s. It’s not an SBR but if I ever did the paper work I could swap a few other short barrels onto it later on.

Quoted: @jaqufrost while that is pretty clearly a mini fix by a different brand, I'm all for it! I didn't understand the idea of small bolt guns, but then I remembered that "pistol" only hunting areas were a thing. so this with a folding brace, can, and 1-6 would be a perfect fun gun in the woods. May need to get one... View Quote In those instances, you pick up all the weight and maneuvering advantages that you do with any other SBR, but you get the accuracy and legality advantages of a bolt action (along with being lighter and smaller usually than a comparable semi-auto). Even if you do go to the big-bore cartridges, those can serve some uses as a guide gun, where you probably don't want to be carrying around a full-size magnum rifle all day just on the off chance a bear shows up, but throw it in a small light package, you'll take the extra blast and ballistic loss at 50yds to have a much better chance of dropping a bear than your alternative - a 44mag revolver. They're a niche item for sure, but super interesting in their niche. |

Shorty 91/30. Always a crowd-pleaser! The 10/22 is less odd, but still somewhat uncommon in a full-length stock with inlet silencer. https://i.imgur.com/6LMkY1Z.jpg And, if we're doing SBS as well, the 12ga pistol is a head-turner... and an interesting thing to fire, for sure. https://i.imgur.com/7tgaxHd.jpg View Quote And what front sight are you using in the dovetail of factory 10/22 barrel? |
