Hmm, I'm looking at some DTNVG with unfilmed WP. Is this new thing going to be in the same league?

The law perverted! And the police powers of the state perverted along with it! The law, I say, not only turned from its proper purpose but made to follow an entirely contrary purpose!

View Quote I highly doubt it considering they said it would be a Night Goggles Inc offering (and not a mainline TNVC offering) as well as the original reply by Sam was to a user considering an RNVG with Photonis Echo tubes (budget WP binos). DTNVG with unfilmed WP is about as high end as you can get until the DTNVS is publicly released (PVS-31, GPNVG, etc notwithstanding). I'm anticipating the release to be some sort of bino housing with gen 3 thin film tubes at a price competitive to an RNVG with Echo tubes. I'd go as far as to venture this might be the Artemis? |

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

I don't want to miss the sale and from what I can gather from the cryptic posts about what is coming down the pipe I'm not sure it is a WP 14 for cheaper than 3k. JRH gets some pretty solid praises around here and specs of past units seems to be pretty damn good. Super nice guy to talk to and a very easy process to make the order. Now I wait.... |

View Quote BLUF: No. Superficially, most fixed bridge goggle systems are going to look fairly similar in terms of general layout. The Artemis will have no more in common with other existing goggle systems than they hall have with eachother insofar as you can re-use the tubes and optics, but the optical pods and their design is very different, except for, again, those components that "must" be the same across all goggles to use 18mm IITs and PVS-14 style optics. The Artemis is its own design, it's not simply a ball-detent RNVG variant. There will also be a dovetail variant of the Artemis as well. ~Augee |

I’m a dummy. What’s drive the difference between the 2 dual tube models? One is fixed and the tubes move? New to dual tube:bino setups but this might be time to pop on them

The fixed bridge system does not, however, mean that they can’t be adjusted, only that the bridge is fixed in place, allowing you to make horizontal interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustments on a single plane using a worm dial on either side of the bridge. Articulating goggle designs are adjusted for IPD by means of rotating the optical pod around a hinge, meaning that you are adjust on two axes (horizontal and vertical) as you adjust for IPD. It mostly comes down to personal preference between the two. ~Augee |

So what’s the big difference between the mil and commercial spec tubes then? I’m very much a NV a noob and have a couple orders I’m waiting on regardless.

The minimums are a bit scary but assuming the tubes run more in line with the xlsh ive seen theyll out perform that by a good bit. Would suck to be the guy who ended up with the 1400fom omni V level stinker but someone has to buy it. |

Based on the IG livestream they are XLSH’s (@silentsolutions). There’s video through the tube in there too and they said that the majority were very good. I say it’s a big deal because the jump from a gen 3 WP mono to a gen 3 WP bino just got a hell of a lot smaller, which is huge for guys who were priced out of binos. |

This is really impressive. Anxious to see specs as they're released. I just received my Gen3 GP PVS14 from TNVC and if I had to redo it, I may have waited a little longer to get those XLS RNVGs. Those prices are very impressive!

So what is new tier order of quality?
-Gen3 Filmless -Gen3 High Spec Thin Film -Gen3 XLS Thin Film??? -Gen2+Photonis Echos -Gen3 Low Spec Thin Film Would you rate these above Photonis Gen2+ Echos tubes? If so, that will be huge, especially at the price range! |
