I picked up my brand new Ruger American in 22lr yesterday. When I opened the box, I cleaned the barrel, lubed everything and assembled per the manual. I shot it about 6 times and then noticed this... Is this normal for this gun? Also note the shit tooling at the base of the bolt handle.

Think I should get with ruger on this?

I don't know. My American Rimfire .22 is around 7 years old, has a shitload of rounds through it, and looks like this:Attachment Attached File

That looks horrible. I'd be getting in touch with Ruger about that. Their CS is very good so they should take care of you.
