From their email:
We have been wanting to make a really good self defense HP for a while now. In the past our biggest issue with the MPR (Multi Purpose Round) was that it required 1150-1200 fps to reliably expand. This was doable through full size firearms, but left the short barrel conceal carry guns without much hope of success. So, we went full out and redesigned our bullet. We pre-cut the lead core so that it will easily open upon impact. Our NUKE is unique in that we gave it three internal petals and six external jacket cuts. The result in ballistics gel is pretty impressive. At 1100 FPS we’re getting about 14? of penetration with a diameter of about .630? in total expansion. At 1000 fps we are getting 16-17? of penetration with a diameter of about .590? in total expansion. Our three petal design leaves the expanded bullet with a very distinct design that kind of resembles the international symbol for radiation. We’ve been testing it for a while now and we’re pretty confident that it is THE bullet for short or long barreled self defense loads. Whether you’re shooting for practice, competition, or self-defense, make sure you’re always hitting with a NUKE! In the pictures above you can see a visual comparison with the new nuke and the original MPR. The nuke is on the left in the picture above. The meplat is only a tiny bit bigger but the taper into the hp cavity is considerably improved. We wanted to get the lead away from the tip for those customers who had complained about the lead causing hangups in feeding for some of your guns. This will also help with some of the discoloration that can happen during shipment. Sometimes the post office puts our packages through a tumbler and the lead exposed tips can rub on eachother and cause the jackets to look leaded and dirty. Hopefully this will solve that issue. These are available in both 124 and 115 grains and will replace the original MPR. This new MPR(NUKE) is being made on a newer machine with a completely different tooling setup so we are currently working with the old machine to make a 135 grain MPR. We aren't sure if we can make a 147 on that machine though. Here's the links to the 124 and 115 for now. Attached File Attached File Not bad for $.11-.12/round shipped! [edit 7/5/22] Anybody using CFE pistol or other powders with this bullet? If you haven’t done so, please post your node data using the RMR NUKE bullets! 1. RMR NUKE bullet weight 115 or 124gr. 2. COL (cartridge Overall Length) 3. Powder type and charge. When I collect enough data points, in my OP I will post some graph data on what shooters are finding with good accuracy nodes. So far, for CFE pistol, people are finding a node with 5-5.1gr and 1.060” COL. ***Same reloading rules apply, just because 7 shooters found the same node and COL, we still need to start at 10% below max and not start near max charge. The above data is to test our hypothesis and give the shooter something to look out for.*** |

ordered some yesterday. Hope I get the new model.
What I have been reading about RMR you just can't say enough good things about them. Great company |

Great company View Quote Be sure you ordered their NUKE MPR! They fixed their caveat which was expansion at normal 9mm pressures. I’ll be buying these over my usual XTP’s for 1/2 the price. If you’re reading this RMR, thank you!!! |

Just ordered 1k to try out.
Will be perfect for the shorter barrels. I'll work one up for the shield. |

I got 1k of those a few weeks ago. I need to go load a few up and test em.

Every reload I've made in the last 10+ years are made from bullets either made or sold by RMR. I don't even bother looking elsewhere. Waiting on the 147gr but I may get some 124's to get started.

Thinking OP deserves a commission. They had several lots of every quantity and in less than 24 hours all gone. I have them bookmarked now.

Hope Jake puts the third shift on soon so the rest of you can order some of these fine looking bullets. I got mine this week with fast and free shipping.
Loaded up a few with 6.8 of Herco. Fills the case up to the top. |

This bullet is on my list. It's ahead of their excellent TCs and RN bullets.
Oh, and the 115 grain version is still in stock (Friday 2000 CDT). |

Got an email from Jake on RMR.
He emailed me back within 20 minutes! 20 minutes! No business does that! That’s why I love rewarding small businesses with passion. They give it their all. Attached File |

Quoted: I'm looking at this going hmmm? View Quote No hmmm,... for me. When peak pressure goes up into that red zone, you need to back off! I also ordered 1,000. I have a short-barreled 9mm, typical of those for which these were designed. I have Federal Hydra-Shock and 147 gr Speer Gold Dots but have never found what I was looking for. Will this be the one? |

View Quote It's not in the red, it's in the purple and 1000psi below max according to QL. Of course, common sense plays a role. Working up slow and watch for over pressure. I'm not interested in those velocities for practical use. I'm just curious.. I haven't found any HP 9mm bullets that can hold up to velocities over 1300fps. or there abouts. I've gotten plated bullets to mushroom but they also tend to break apart at some point. |

That's why so much of the loading data and factory loads for 357 SIG are so watered down, and the hottest factory ammo is all FMJ. Speer makes a special 125 gr Gold Dot bullet for 357, and it's more like their 125 357 magnum design than the 124 gr 9mm bullet. I probably should lay in a bunch of the old design RMRs for my SIG. |

I enjoyed this part of the order confirmation email. It pertains to delivery options for my order.
"*PLEASE NOTE* We are sad to announce that, after several years of R&D, our attempts at a successful BMPDS (Ballistic Missile Parcel Delivery System) have failed. Several municipalities complained that spent missile tubes landing in random locations were unsightly. Portland Oregon claimed that the practice wasn't green, although we were able to land the majority of the spent tubes tested there within a two-block radius of a tax-payer subsidized recycling center. We had hoped that local artists would appreciate the convenient delivery of sculpture art-material so proximate to their cardboard domiciles, but they failed to find imaginative uses for missile tubes without plagiarizing artisans from eastern Europe. 179,000 in stock as of this AM.

Man, I love RMR.
Ordered 1k on Wednesday 4/20, received them Saturday 4/23. Gonna work these 124gr nukes up in speer nickel brass and see how my gold dot load of 5.6gr BE86 works out in my shield. Will do a small work up to that. |
|
Wonder how slow they can go and still expand. Looks like 1000 fps they still do pretty good. A 147 designed around subsonic velocity would be pretty cool.
|
|
Can someone take a measurment of the bullet length for the 124g Nuke and post it here?
Thanks |

What I noticed when I got my 115 gr bullets in was "Lot 1" written on the inner plastic bag.

Why do companies have to give stupid names like "nuke". I wouldn't buy them for that reason. Stupid.
|
|
Because the guy giving the name thought it was cool?
Can't please everyone. |
