OK guys, I don't know how to hotlink. But I've been waiting for Marlin to do a 357 big loop for a long time and looks like they have finally decided to do it. |

I'm a FFL and they are already listed at several wholesalers, although not in stock. Looks like dealer price is going to be about $800

If they priced them at $500 I'd buy one of each. At $900 I doubt I'd buy any of them. At that price one of the Uberti 1873s seem more attractive.

This reminds me of when they announced the 1894SBL and 1894CSBL in 2011 but failed to make them outside of a couple of prototypes. I would buy the CST but will believe it when I see it. https://i.imgur.com/xLHyHYHh.jpg View Quote |

I hope these make it to market...they'll sell a bunch of them if they are half way decent, QC-wise

Two of my last three Marlin rifles, bought over the last four years, had to go back to the factory. One would not shoot and the other would not shoot to point of aim. I'll spend no more money on new Marlin products.

For $700, I'd buy. But if they're priced at $900, I'll just save some cash and get a Rossi in .357 mag.

Really trying to avoid sending it back but I'll do it if it's my last hope. View Quote The first one to go back, my 1894 in 44 Mag, would jam/bind up. Marlin replaced the trigger components (paid for shipping both ways). That rifle shoots fine now. The second rifle was a M336Y w/ the laminate stock. It shot high, regardless of the rear sight setting (like over 12" high at 100 yards). Marlin replaced that rifle, again paid for shipping. The replacement rifle came with standard wood stocks. Marlin told me they did not have the laminate stocks.....which was the main reason I picked the rifle up to begin with. BLAB: Marlin repaired both rifles and paid for shipping on both rifles. Both rifles work fine now, but neither were not worth the initial frustration of making them work correctly. |

I'll gladly pay $900 for a American gun made in America, looks like they are back in the game on a QC and new model perspective.
Sorry but i'm not buying a American gun made in Brazil by Taurus cousins, just dosent seem right. |

Apparently I'm the only person on the planet that hates big lever loops. I actively seek lever guns without them.

I love how everyone says “Buy American”, then wants to buy an import because it’s $200 more expensive.
Pay the money for a good quality gun (they are getting better) and keep the money here. Otherwise we are all gonna end up with AKs as China will run us. Rant over... |

Rossi 92s are based on the Winchester action. It's my preference. (Unless the Marlin action is stronger. Is it?) View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The Marlin action maybe slightly stronger due to solid upper receiver but in pistol calibers its a wash between the two. |

Believe the 92 action is stronger as they have been chambered for the .454 Casull ctg where the Marlin 94 hasn't had any cartridge stronger then .44 Mag.

Bankruptcy does not equal going out of business.
Look at Colt for an example. |

I went to the LGS the other day. I looked at a Marlin. The action was smooth. The wood to metal fitting was good. The bluing was very nice.
Despite all the bad press they have recently gotten, had it been chambered in in 357 Magnum, I would have purchased it. Did I miss something? |
|
[#42]
No.
The new ones are very nice like i've been saying. The internet can literally ruin a company from all the lazy people regurgitating what they have "heard" instead of actualy going into a shop and seeing for themselves... It's sad but true. |

Any word on when they will be released to distributors? I'm still waiting for the threaded 357 model to be released.

I don't understand the only models being offered are guns with extra options at a higher price. I don't want the big lever, stainless steel or xs sights. Need a blued polymer 16" .357 1894 at a lower price. The threaded barrel may be useful to me but only for a flash hider.

That’s for the SBL/CSBL. I want the CST View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes One will have to wait and see on exactly when any of these new models will appear. All these models were just announced last month at SHOT, orders from distributors likely have been placed, and when production will start filling those orders is a waiting game. Watch GB since new stuff starts showing up there. If the SBL/CSBLs "do" start showing up hope that the CST is available with them or shortly after. |

Any more word on these? Has anyone seen any in the wild, or at least showing up at distributors yet?
