Good to hear. It's been nice seeing all the options for Mac's expand over the last decade.

Very cool.

Congrats to Lage. In addition to the additional caliber options, it's worth buying just to support Lage and these types of platform innovations.

This is interesting historically as well. Many years ago, a C2 was making M60 conversion uppers for the MAC-10, but were later confiscated from owners after it was determined to be an MG by itself. As I remember, the C2 made the first one on spec for Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, then a few others after. It even became a meme among C2s before memes became a thing, the belt-fed MAC-10 as something to mean taking something way too far.
And now these radical departures from the base MAC-10 are seemingly ok… |

The radical departures that Lage makes are not without scrutiny.
The BATF has shown particular scrutiny and difficulty getting MG conversions - Some interpretation that If the gun can "somehow" be made to fire without it being mechanically tied to the MG than its an MG by itself. Say for example if an AR15 upper and a hammer and nail were used to set off a cartridge in an upper by itself makes it an MG or firearm. I believe Lage went through some reviews and changes with the BATF so it couldn't be used or easily made to be used with anything but an actual MAC MG frame. This makes kit designers be extra hand tied as many ideas could be considered an MG by itself sometimes on a whim of what is "easy" |
