So I picked up a GSG-16 this weekend at the local gunshow.

I've read a lot of posts here about the mods needed for the GSG-5 and the 522 - firing pin spring, soft screws, buffer cushion, etc.

Which of these still apply to the 16?

All of them to be honest. The GSG16 is just cosmetically different from the 522.

I've done
- GSG16 to 522 conversion (swapped the grip, sights and charging handle)
- Screw upgrade and loctite
- buffer
- A2 stock
- Hammer strut mod (Most important one IMO)
- Pinning/removing the mag safety
- Removing the firing pin safety
- Slide plate trigger job/polish
- Sanding the magazine tabs
It runs good now but out of the box was kind of a cheap mess.

Haven't done the firing pin mod, mine works 99% of the time with CCI SV, if you plan to shoot cheap stuff then maybe.

Just waiting for some spare parts and I'll probably do the SEF/safety upgrade.
