Not sure how to answer that, I don't know how the math works in relation to the difference in lens sizes. I'm sure somebody that knows better can answer that though. The PTS233 has a base 1.5x optical magnification on its 19mm lens.

Are these still 6 to 8 weeks out from order to ship? If so, that's gonna take the wind out of my impulse buy sails.

View Quote My understanding is that some of us who ordered after X-mas are looking at around 12 weeks, unless something changes right now. But that is just my experience, others may vary/ |

Mine came in from Optics Planet on Wednesday. I ordered it during the Black Friday sales. I took it to the range yesterday and zeroed it. I managed to go two for two on the NRA pig silhouette gong after getting zeroed.

Has anyone downloaded a software update yet... and if so how? The manual ids a site, then says select "Resource" tab but no resource tab on the site.

Shouldn't the image on the new Flir pts233 be better than the old Flir RS 320x19mm series?
My buddy just bought a pts233 and he is very disappointed with the image compared to his old flir that was stolen. |

I am thinking this summer or early fall, the 640 Boson cores are already out in many other market applications outside the hunting division so the silicon foundry in Santa Barbra is cranking them out, just need software/ hardware engineering designs to be completed for the hunting products.

All the hype and it's really not that great at unit. Not saying it is junk but you are getting what you pay for. It is a $2000 unit. After looking through one I would save my money and get something a little nicer. View Quote |

FINAL TRB's are now complete on our TNVC web site for ordering under "New Products". (Thank you for the patience as we finalized the design).
We're all really impressed on how the final version of the cradle turned out. The cradle will fit nicely on any picatinny rail. No more need to mount anything on rifle stocks or zip ties to scopes, etc. The TRB will power the PTS line up to 13.5hrs on a single charge. ***The TRB's will be included included FREE with every TNVC/Night Goggles purchase of FLIR's PTS series of thermals. PTS233, and the upcoming line of the 536, 736 and PTQ136 (Breach)*** Future cable systems are in the works for many other brands. Sorry we cannot post direct links to our web site. If you look under "New Products" under the TNVC web site you will see it there. You can also see direct links to the TRB on our Industry Page HERE |

With our Breach units arriving today, we have been working with PTS and PTQ systems. Hope you like the comparisons we did with all the upcoming PTS units along with the PTQ136 Breach.
Loaded correct pic below. Sorry. |

[#39]
Are these Breach units all spoken for or is there stock available for new orders?
|
|
[#40]
Looking at the specs and seeing your comparison, the breach and the PTS233 are identical except ones hand held while the other if rifle mounted. But the PTS233 is cheaper.

As far as I can tell, the Breach has a 9.1mm lens while the PTS233 has a 19mm. Same Boson core with the same image enhancement algorithms. According to the Boson spec sheet, the 9.1mm is a native Boson lens while the 19mm is not. FLIR/Armasight must be sourcing those lenses and assembling themselves. My guess is that the 9.1 is calibrated at the factory in SB whereas the non-native lenses are being cal'd at the Armasight factory. Wonder if it makes a difference to image quality. If Boson is anything like Tau, integrator needs to calibrate at the system level. Armasight has to be doing this for the PTS. Hopefully they are doing it for Breach as well.

thanks for posting the updated picture. From reading the specs on both, pretty close to the same specs but the handheld shows a smaller person in the picture. Is the lens different? Will look over the specs again. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
