Any idea who this belongs to, or the specs? I am going to guess it is a pistol gas, but is it a 7 or 8 inch barrel? It looks like it is .750.. I think. Is there a pistol gas barrel out there that has a big enough journal to mount a FSB?

It looks like the old DPMS "kitty cat" upper.
Should be a 7.5" bbl w/ pistol length gas.

I found out who the weapon in the pic belongs to- it is @NorthBridge

His is in 300 blk!

Here is mine, all finished. I have the colt fiberlite swapped onto a retro right now, so it has a minimalist stock.

Y'all nailed it. 7.5", pistol gas. Dunno about the upper for sure, bought it on the EE. I'll take your word for that one.

BP, what caliber is your build?

That is a 6.5 Grendel above the eagle to cover up the form 1 stuff.

But it is in 5.56. I am already on the hunt for a 300 blk barrel to make another.

No prob. I got my barrel from Bear Creek. I know they're under fire right now for their 7.62x39 barrels showing up rusty, but this barrel has been solid. I'm actually surprised by the accuracy.

I did some digging on the DPMS "kitty kat" and only found pics of them online with a flattop or A2 upper, no A1/C7 uppers. Dunno if that matters, I just was curious and gave it a search.

I have one of these barrels, think its 7" because a carbine length free float tube extends past the shoulder of the threads.

Still one of the few chrome lined pistol length barrels I know of... they are 1/9 twist, I checked mine for keyholing and never had an issue with 55 grain ammo.

Correct. The DPMS kitty kat barrels were 7".

/\ yup the dpms kitty kat barrels were 7" with pistol length gas system.

my first ar was a 7" kitty kat sbr , it was a good shooter. here it is in it's last configuration before i sold the upper , i wish i would have kept it.

I got this upper from Model 1 Sales years ago. Added the light rail to the handguard, looks similar except the A2 sights...

How did you have your FSB done? Will Bear Creek do it?
