I'd like to change to a Silencerco ASR Flash hider so I can use my Hybrid with my Scar 17. Aside from removing the factory brake and replacing it with the ASR, what else do I need to do? ie: Do I need peel washers/reuse that little spacer it comes with?
Can I simply pull off the old brake and replace with the ASR?

Being a standard ASR flash hider, 3 prong you will just thread it down and torque it. Make sure to clean your threads and use some Rocksett(I even question if this is needed if proper torque is applied.)

If you're going to mount a can, you may want to use this shoulder ring.  The 17's barrel has insufficient shoulder, so it needs a little extra care to assure that the bore and can are aligned properly.  Surefire SOCOM 762 muzzle devices come with a SCAR ring, but others don't.  If you're never mounting a can, it is unlikely to be a problem.  You can use this to check the alignment barrel straightness gauge or the Geissele/Surefire ones are fine too.

You do not need the shoulder ring with a 3 prong ASR flash suppressor mount.

That's good to know.  I thought that you would have to time it to use it with a can, so then the shoulder comes into play; even though a three prong doesn't really need timing, unless you want it to be a certain orientation.

Is the ASR flash hider designed to bottom out on the shoulder or muzzle?  Not sure that I’d want to bottom out a device on a muzzle that’s made to bottom out on the barrel shoulder.
