Hey all.

I'm looking for a general purpose protective case for my PVS-14 + other NVG equipment.

Something I can use for transportation when outside of the safe. Ideally I would like it to at least fit my PVS-14, mounting hardware, spare batteries, and Ops Core (L/XL).

Is there a Pelican model that fits the bill? Any Sams/Costco or Harbor Freight like off brands work too!

Apache cases at HF.  Use their 20-25% coupons.

you're wanting to transport all, helmet included? do you care if it's soft or hard? for soft, i'd recommend the first spear helmet hut. works great, very protective/well padded. mystery ranch also makes one that's quite similar, but i'm pretty sure it's under exclusive license to team wendy (haven't seen it for sale anywhere else).

I have a Harbor Freight Apache case for just that. They make like 5 diff sizes. Go in store and pick the one you need for whatever gear you're wanting to put in it.

Another vote for the First Spear Helmet Hut- works very well for me and holds spare batteries, demist shields, IR pistol lasers, etc.

Another vote for the Harbor Freight cases. Cheap, durable, functional.

Here’s several options:

1. US Mil PVS-14 case -> awesome but basically an ammo can.
eBay Link

2. Padded pouch + transport case (no foam) to hold it. I have bino NODs and it was impossible to make them fit in any PVS-14 pouch. This PADDED pouch on Amazon has been awesome and you can just toss it into a Pelican sized right (I forget which), or Seahorse/Harbor Freight case and now it’s basically bombproof.

Surplus Tactical Tailor brand cases will safely hold your pvs14 and related components/batteries. They run around $20 and can be stored inside your helmet. Just search “Tactical Tailor AN/PVS-14 MNVD Pouch Night Vision Goggle NVG pouch” on ebay.

For your helmet there are plenty of hard cases to choose from (Pelican, Harbor Freight...).  Another option would be a padded soft case. Take a look at motorcycle helmet bags or packs. They blend in better if thats a concern and they are much cheaper then the purpose designed ones like the First Spear Helmet Hut (which is a great option, just don’t know your needs/budget).

This works good for just the PVS-14.

Amazon Product
  • Wide loop-fastener patch area in front for i.d., badges, etc. Movable divider for stacking two shorter lenses together
  • Internal flap-top pocket for storing of lens caps, wipes, etc.
  • Can add onto/into our other modular packs/bags like M.O.D.(TM)

I bought this padded case off Amazon for less than $10 and it fits the FLIR PTS 233 PERFECTLY

Amazon Product
  • co2CREA Made to Fit EVA Case for JBL Flip 2 3 and 4 Bluetooth Speaker and accessories.
  • Shockproof dustproof and water resistance, comes with handstrap
  • Material: EVA, Color: Black

They had other sizes as well that I'm sure could be used for other parts.

I have a pelican, but i also have a padded insert that fits inside a USGI canteen pouch. I always take the battery out and put it in the side.

I have my PVS-14 in a Tactical Tailor hard case, and use a military pilot's helmet bag to carry everything else and the PVS-14 case.

I bought a USPalm NODs Garage for my NVD. It’s padded and fits inside the cavity of one of my helmets.

Back when I only had one helmet, I bought a SKD BBC helmet bag. It’s nice. I’ll probably use a pilots bag for my loaner.

I just turn my helmet upside down.  Place the 15s in a PVS7 sack and place in helmet.  Clip chin strap over it and go.  Not the best but free.

I bought the grey ghost PVS 15 case for the binos, through it inside the helmet then in my bag. I was very intrigued by the NODS garage but i could not find a price or a dealer.

I use a Pelican 1400, holds my PVS 14, batteries, arm, an IR flashlight and room for more.

I use the Emdom NV case. Has padded sides and ends and a hard shell layer. Fits goggles or a PVS14 plus arm plus mount. The velcro divider keeps everything separated and free fron shifting. Mounts to a carry strap, molle, or tie downs.

Damn, thanks for posting this.  That is EXACTLY what I've been looking for.  Compact enough to not fill up my pack, yet larger ID enough to hold my -14, j-arm, and G11 without me having to unscrew everything.  $90 is more than I'd like to spend, but that really looks like a high-quality product.

Agree, looks nice. I might snag one for my other helmet/monocular.

I usually mount it on the outside my Eberlestock pack, where it is very low profile, but when it comes off I use a carry strap as a stand alone carrier. I have an INVG Hyper mount which is not ideal,  as I have to mount it just so to get it to fit, but any standard non rotating mount should work perfectly. The zippered lid holds lense cloth, my tube spec sheet, and a AA lithium. Really like the hybrid hard/soft design and curved shape.
