Remove batteries, though, to prevent a curious and/or irresponsible screener from messing with them if they do ask to see/inspect them.

The technology itself will not be damaged, however, and it is perfectly acceptable to travel with them as carry-on domestically.

Obviously, traveling internationally with them without proper licensing is a big “no no.”
