What earpro mounts are those?  They are smaller than what I've seen online.

MARK/SARA from Unity made for the TW rail - http://www.unitytactical.com/shop/mark-sara-kit/

Also got the Remora to hold the MPLS over one of them. SF is just on one of the little pic rail chunks at the sideburns.

I just bought some QD picatinny rails for my TW and was pleasantly surprised to learn they are modular.  I was able to remove the picatinny rail on one side and attach my MPLS mount.  I’m pretty stoked since this will let me to swap ear pro for lights without any tools.

I was just looking at those Unity Earpro mounts last night.  I love the smaller profile of them.  Do you like them?  I also like to run an IR Laser illuminator on the side of my helmet, so the remora looks like a nice solution as well.....

One question is do the Unity Earpro mounts "Click" in and out away from your ears?  I like the idea of having the Com Tac's over my ears so I can hear communications, but maybe not right up against my head If I want to click out and let my ears cool off, etc.  Understandably, I would have no hearing protection at that point, but I'm thinking on the Comms side in regards to this question.

Hopefully that made sense.

Dang nice setup by the way!!!!

No the unity’s don’t click like the peltor ones. The idea behind the unity’s, aside from the smaller size, was to keep constant pressure on your ear pro because the high speed guys were having the peltor adaptors “click” out during a breaching charge and other close proximity explosions. And we can see why that’s bad. Only downside to the unity’s, if the non click doesn’t bother you, is the end of the metal rods where the ear pro slide on aren’t crimped so they can slide off with peltors atleast. It seems they were more designed around sordins with their other adaptor pieces for them.

I'm using the peltor tactical pro headset.  There is a 2 pin to 3.5mm cable that hooks into the peltors for audio-in purposes.  The radio is a common 2 way radio and I"ve got the shoulder mic hooked into it.  The shoulder mic has a 3.5mm audio out port built in.

Once you get it all put together the shoulder mic acts as both the PTT and the microphone while the audio from the radio goes into the headset.

Peltors $87 (used)
Peltor 2 pin to 3.5mm cable ($20)
Cobra shoulder mic w/audio out port ($30)
Cobra 2 way radio

It's not whiz-bang tactical but it works

Not as fancy as some other rigs here, but here's my new helmet setup to replace a MICH 2000

I didn't realize the Revision Viper was cut different from a standard MICH 2001, so I wasn't able to set it up exactly how I planned, and the ear cut outs are a lot smaller than what I thought they'd be. Still fits earpro underneath just fine.

Revision P4 High Cut
Wilcox WMS
Wilcox G24
Notoros THA
Adams Industries PVS-14
Hel Star 402

True story - no clickiness and it keeps them nice and tight against my noggin so they have a good seal for loud inside stuff. They do still rotate though, so when I don't need the protection or want to air out a little, I just rotate them back and onto the rear part of the helmet out of the way. I've found it's better to store them long term down in the deployed position though rather than rotated to the rear, or else the hard wire hangers will get bent and loosen their clamping pressure against my head.

I like them too but they definitely do not push hard enough against my head to make a good seal. I still have to wear plugs as well

Lol people laugh all the time but we almost lost a set of anvis at work. We use to keep extra batteries in the anvis battery pack holders in our nvg cases. Something happened to one that caused the plastic of the holder to melt and even melted the foam and burnt part of the outer cover to the case. We don’t keep batteries in the spare holders anymore

They’re AN/AVS-10s, or PNVGs - came before the ground panos. Very fun units to use for all the CQB stuff though. Check out Denali Vision on IG for a listing they’ve got for a set that I believe is still available.

Those aren’t all my helmets, just a collection of a few that showed up to class.

Awesome stuff!

In the most improbable scenario someone browsing this thread will go ahead and buy the AVS10 you said is available, just so everyone knows it has non-standard 16mm tubes. Non-standard in all ways, the shape of the tube boot is odd and they need to be fitted into the unit by gluing a locating ring onto the front. Also has a third contact for brightness adjustment. I doubt there is anyone but Ed who can collimate those and I would say spare tubes are impossible to come by. DTS posted images of said tube in the stickied tube topic a page or two from the newest. Fascinating stuff anyway! 31 / GPNVG has similar mechanism for the tubes so repair / replacement is hard, though they at least have 18mm tubes. The boot is still odd, so no direct replacement by going to ebay and getting just any tube.

There is one available on this side of the pond too. You gotta be either rich and like risks, or just stupid, or all 3, to purchase it. A 30k eur paperweight when anything happens to it is nice but is it nice enough, not for me ;)
