So...
The Axl Advanced RAC Link for MSA Sordins are only designed to work with the Over The Head Variants. I did not see this warning when I ordered the full kit including the OpsCore AMP headset arms. I did not understand the reason for the incompatibility until I had already begun to irreversible disassemble my Sordins. This is my work in progress Frankenstein helmet setup. I'm still kinda figuring out what works for me and what I like. I haven't completely decided what methods I want to use for retention so there is some loose cordage that needs to be trimmed.
My philosophy in life is to be as minimalist as possible. I'm trying to get my helmet to reflect that and be as light as possible without anything on it that I don't absolutely need. My long term goal is to transition from a monocular to a set of binos. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

I recognize that the auto off is angled back, but the one I got was significantly less expensive. A buddy is selling a massive lot of them for $200/ea and mine was buddy prices. The G69 works well with this J-arm and I can get it close enough with no issue. Not so much with the G24. But I think the G24 will work on my bump with the thinner shell. But it's at work so I haven't tried it yet. ETA: I'm also partially humble bragging about the full restoration of the mount. |
