Could you use a stainless steel mason jar lid as the registered part and then be able to rebuild the glass mason jar portion?

Definitely something you should ask them in person......

Sean at Ordnance Labs did a video on just this. The serial portion has to be critical in the function of the device. I don’t have the link but search YouTube for Ordnance Labs Molotov Cocktail. This obviously isn’t legal advice so take it for what it’s worth.

Generally no.

Doesn't hurt to attempt it.

Pretty sure they had one that was reusable/reloadable but I have no idea where it was engraved

Alternatively, a stainless steel bracket that holds a stormproof match, and is rubber banded to the bottle, might be a viable serialized component. Since the igniter is the most important aspect of the molotov, that would seem to satisfy the 'critical component' requirement.

This would allow using any type of bottle.

It seems like in theory you should be able to, but ATF being ATF they'll probably rule that you can't do that.
