Just got my M die for 35 Remington.
Pro tip, the expansion rod always comes loose from the shaft it screws into. When it happens it way, way over bells the case.
I use red locktite on the threads where the bullet points to.
Screwed it in to almost touch shellholder and set locknut.
Got die adjusted to expand and just bell the case, but there was no way to lock down the adjustment.
I think Lyman sends you a die body meant for 308, but 35 Rem being much shorter, you run out of room on the adjustment rod.
So it's fixing time.
Placed die in vice and cut off the end to right where the threads start. You can see the piece I cut off.
Smoothed out hacksaw cut on the belt grinder and the wire wheel got rid of the burrs.
Cleaned out debris from inside die, and put die back together.
Placed in press and adjusted. Now I have plenty of adjustment and this is how a M die should look after being adjusted.
In the past I converted a 300 blk M die to expand 7.62x25, this conversion was much easier.
