Recently acquired a mini 14 with serial number starting 188. Has the folding polymer stock on it. Want to change it to a standard poly stock. Anything I should be aware of?

Most Ruger Mini14 stocks require a metal stock liner. If yours stock has screws mid-way at the receiver on each side it likely has a metal stock liner. That will also need to be transferred to your new stock if it lacks one. I think there is also a metal liner on some stocks, kind of a heat shield for the bottom forward of the mag well
