1st up
Fulton Armory M1 Carbine. I'd mounted a Ultimak rail and Vortex Venom on this a couple weeks and had issues with the Venom. Quick trip back to Vortex and they fix the issue.
1st 50 rounds
Running groups of 3 to zero at 50 yards, my 1st 6 rounds go in the dirt below the target. I start dialing it in and decide to switch targets after 50 rounds because I can't see new holes in the target.
2nd 50 rounds doing the same. Getting there but I run into another issue. This Carbine has a irritating habit of ejecting every 4-5th round on my forehead, often enough where I have a red mark on the middle of my damn forehead
I decide to save myself the headache and stop at this point, bring home the 100 rounds .30 Carbine left. I changed the slide from the Type IV that Fulton used to build it to the Type V that was on my 1st FA Carbine. I had to tweak the Ultimak when I did so I'll rezero next range trip and hope the only center mass hits next time are the target and not my noggin
Next up, my CMP H&R "Expert" Garand
50 rounds 50 yards to finish zeroing it there
No problems with zero, did the last two clips freehand sitting so I'm all over the 8-9 ring with it. Bench resting it's looking dead on. Did have 1 "7th round stoppage" on the 3rd clip. I'm using some I got from Fulton so I'm thinking maybe their "commercial" clips. I decided to bring 4 clips home, ammo ain't cheap you know.
