I have an older mod 60 purchased from Walmart around 91 or so and it has seen quite a few thousand rounds through it. I’m wanting to dedicate it to Aguila colibri rounds and I guess I need to change a spring to get it to cycle. Right now it shoots them fine, but it is a single shot and I’d like to get a follow up shot off without single feeding them. Once adjusted this rifle will only be fed these rounds, no standard or hi velocity. What do I need to look for and where can I get a decent video of how to do the work?

Thanks in advance.

This may be an option for you.

If anyone else other than you has access to it I'd put a warning or something on it.  Crap happens.

Oh, and welcome to Arfcom

Not the spring; you need to take some mass out of the bolt.  I'd suggest a drill.  Take a little bit out at a time.

Awesome, that looks like it will work. Thanks, and thanks for the welcome.

That was the second option and one I’ll look into as well. I’m hoping the spring will be quicker, easier, and cheaper all around, but an extra bolt may not be a bad idea. Thank you.

Colibri are not going to function semi auto in a Marlin 60, they just don't generate enough pressure. I doubt they would even cock the hammer back or make the bolt travel far enough to eject and pick up a new round even with extensive modification. Also the M60 bolt has to cam up the cartridge lifter to feed the next round, it's not going to happen with Colibri.

Maybe CCI Quiet with springs and a lightened bolt.

As the owner of three Model 60's, I completely agree.

Damn, I hadn’t thought of that. Guess I’ll see if I can get the SR-22 to work a little better with them and dedicate it if it can be made to cycle them.

I'm curious if anyone has come up with a combination that does work? I like the concept.
