I have an XL7 in .270
The trigger guard used a wood screw into the plastic and the blind mag kind of is a bummer Shoots well enough. Same gun in short vs. long action  Attached File |

I had an XS7 in .308 10+ years ago but I think the barrel was longer than 18”. It was a great gun for the money and shot tight groups. I think I paid $350 from Buds for it. Sold it off for something else and eventually ended up with a Bergara HMR for a bolt gun.

I have a blued .243 and a stainless .308. They are good shooting basic hunting rifles. The adjustable trigger is decent. Savage style barrel nuts so replacing barrels is not to hard. Some Winchester 70 stocks fit.

Nice rifle for the price, shoots well. A blend of design cues from multiple manufacturers with the trigger, bolt design, barrel nut, etc. My understanding is the plastic stocks weren't great but I've zero experience with one. |
