I've seen a lot of references lately to people putting their maker info on the barrel of a sbr, is this legit/acceptable? I've done all mine on the receivers in the past and I'm currently waiting for my form 1 and may do this on my next sbr if it's kosher.

Perfectly legal. It’s listed right in the regulation.

By engraving, casting, stamping (impressing), or otherwise conspicuously placing or causing to be engraved, cast, stamped (impressed), or placed on the frame, receiver, or barrel thereof certain additional information.{snip}

I guess I never paid much attention to it, im definitely doing the barrel this go around

Serial number is the only piece of info that isn’t allowed on the barrel…in case you ever build anything from a non-firearm (80% lower, AK flat, DIY silencer, etc)

You are just limited to that barrel or barrels engraved with your info for that SBR.

And remember the engraved text has to be visible not hidden behind the rail.
