On their Instagram Post about the new 700 Pro stock, lots of people asking about the American Stocks, and they reponded to most of them saying "this month".

Am I reading it right, with the new stock on a .308, you would be able to use magpuls 7.62 mags?

The AI-style mags, and presumably other AI-style mags. Not the double-stack AR-10 magazines.

I’d  be happy with that. I just picked up a Ruger gsr so that would be nice.

Judging by the thickness of the barrel, threaded muzzle and the Pmags its using, I would guess that it is an American Predator 308, 18". One of them is on my short list after how impressive my American Ranch 223 has been. I plan on picking up 2 of the magpul stocks once they are released! Love the magpul stock on my 1022, and the 700 stocks are a nice compromise IMO between the usually crap factory stocks and and an all out expensive replacement from the likes of B+C, McMillan, HS Precision, etc...

What’s up with the Ranch 223? Very interested in your experience

I ended up selling it a few months back when I picked up a killer deal on a SMOS GFY15 I've been drooling over. It was a great rifle though. Loved the Federal Fusion ammo, grouped usually about 1" off a bipod/rear bag with a 2-7x scope, which I was more than happy with. I plan on picking up a Predator in either 308 or 6.5 after the stocks have been out a little while. Wouldn't hesitate to pick up another .223 if I needed to.

Evidently I have one on a truck headed this way. Probably should shoot the factory stock before I swap.

Fun gun to shoot. Never put any round through it in stock condition.
Ruger American Predator in 6.6 creedmor
Magpul American Hunter
Vortex Viper PST

Now I need to work on my marksmanship.

Looks like an awesome stock.  I just feel weird spending $299 for a replacement stock  on a $399 rifle.  It's taken me awhile to justify paying as much for a scope as I did a rifle.

Think of it as buying a $299 stock for a $399 barreled action...being the factory stock isnt worth the plastic used to make it.

Did that help lessen the weirdness?

So what’s your mdt stock going to cost all said and done?

A spendy 610.  MDT LSS Chassis was 400, (2) mags at 40 each, Larue buffer tube was 55, Larue RISR/CTR Combo was 75.

I looked at it as an investment in the Ruger American platform.  If I ever shoot out the barrel in 6.5 CM, I'll simply buy another RAP in 6.5 CM and drop it into the existing chassis.

Yup looks good but definitely in a whole different league than the magpul.
