anyone have first hand experience with both? Is the price difference worth it $15 magpul vs the $70 cloud defense?
(No I can’t use the top pic rail due to my specific setup)

The Cloud Defense option is rock solid but it is expensive as hell for a tapeswitch mount.  I tend to use the magpul version most of the time I need to put a switch on an MLOK handguard but I have broken 2 of them over the years as they are fairly thin plastic.  I would rather put the money towards an SR07 switch that lets me have a constant on feature without moving my hand around too much and I put it on the top pic rail.

The Mlok Surefire model OP is probably talking about should be basically the same size as the Magpul one.

I think the Cloud version is worth it if you're getting the 1913 type and want the switch at 12 o'clock.  Only other option for that that I'm aware of that actually stays where you put it without drama is the one Manta makes (which is cheaper and you lose some switch feel, although that also makes the SF tape less prone to mistakes)

If you want it on the sides somewhere, I don't see a reason not to go with the Magpul.
