Same, for under $15 the Tapco gen II mags seem to be working well for me.

Be aware that the first round of Tapco mags weren't great, even Tapco admitted as much when they revamped them for gen II.

Wish they made a 20 round version too.

Magpul announced Scorpion Evo mags first of this year at SHOT and there's till no release date yet. So IF a magpul rep ever promised that, it's probably never been more than a passing comment.

I have seven of the Tapco Mini-14 Gen II mags, and they are awesome.  I have 12 of the factory 20s, and the Tapcos are every bit as good.  (They are FUGLY, though)!  The Gen II are totally re-engineered with different/better polymer and the steel reenforcement around the locking hole.

The tapcos do work, believe it or not.

I have a bunch of ruger 20 rounders too.  All good to go.

Good to know.  I'd probably shoot my Mini more if I had some more reliable magazines.

CDNN still has 10 & 20 rnd mini 14 mags made by Original Equipment if you need mags. $12-$15 bucks.

I ordered three of the Tapco Gen IIs in FDE. Loaded two up and let them sit over a month. Shot my Mjni today, zero issues with the Tapco Gen II in my 580 series.

I have yet to find a 30 round mag that functions reliably in my AC556. Factory Ruger 20s are 99.99%. Tapco 30's are around 60%. Ruger 30s maybe 70%.

Get your Tapcos now because they’re going bye-bye.

Gave my friend 2 Tapcos to try and they were not reliable, no idea what ammo he was using but in Tapco's defense his Ruger 30s weren't reliable either.

I only have one Tapco gen II 30 rounder for my .300bo but it hasn’t given me any issues with 125 gr loads.

But I also mainly use steel 20s & 10s. Both factory Ruger and Original Equipment. Never understood why even Ruger had issues with their 30s.

But I’ve also heard the newer followers were a big improvement so unsure if the majority of the 30 rnd failures were caused by the old follower.

I hope Tapco isn’t gone forever. Their AK, Saiga & SKS mags had a good rep.
