Who has the best deals on Sig MPX mags?
|
|
Interested in this too, just bought a MPX SBR and at $60 bucks a mag I would like to find some good deals for Gen. 2's. I have some time to wait before the stamps clear so I can wait for a deal.

They are only 20 round and Gen 1. I've heard some people say gen 1 mags work, but others have said they don't. I don't have any experience myself. |
|
Get some G1 mags, they are cheap at many places and you wont feel as bad wearing them out. They work find in G2 guns. Once its in the gun, you cant tell the difference.

I suggest only using Gen 2 magazines in Gen 2 guns. Unless you're just shooting supersonic factory ammo. I find that the Gen 2 mag is the only one that works with my reloads (147g) and my subsonic ammo...all this with a suppressor. The Gen 2 magazine keeps the bullet on the straighter path to the entrance of the barrel compared to the Gen 1. I don't get any FTF's with the Gen 2

The SIG store is the correct answer to this question. Right now, today, there are really only Gen 1 20rd mags on sale for $8.99. But stuff does go in and out of stock and prices do change. Gen 1 30rd mags were in stock, then out of stock, then in stock again at a lower price.
I just picked up a Gen 2 6" barrel that sat at over $500, then went to $250 (when I bought), then back up to over $500 and then OOS. Just keep an eye on it and check every few days. But now is the time to buy the G1 20rd mags. I doubt you'll see them for less than $8.99. Those mag pouches are cheap too and price has varied between $3.99 and $9.99. This applies to Gen 2 mags, too. I picked up five Gen 2 20rd mags for $20/ea. |

Sig store and Gen 1 mags. If you are worried about it buy one and try it, then buy more. I got a Gen 2 MPX recently and have not had any issues at all with 3 Gen 1 30 rounders and 1 Gen 1 20 rounder I picked up on clearance from Sig.

Well shit
There's was a better deal on the 8.99 mags!!! They had the 3 pack in a pouch for 18.99!!! They don't anymore. I just bought the last 9 3 packs. My MPX will have plenty of mags. I stocked up on that 30rd 3 pack deal too. PSA had the 20rdrs for pretty cheap a few weeks back, but not this cheap! |

Just wanted to let y'all know that SIG replenished their sale items. The 3 20rd mag kit in the pouch is back for $18.99. Considering the pouch itself is/was on sale for $9.99, this would make the mags $3 each. As getnlwr noted above, don't click the MPX sale header, click on the sale link.
Also back in stock is that sweet computer bag for $26 and the Bladetech single MPX mag holder for $4-5. And spend $100 and get $20 off and free shipping. Once you go over $100 it reduces the cart total so you still get the message that you need x more dollars to get free shipping- ignore that. You could get five mag pouch kits plus some other $5 trinket for $100- $20 with free shipping. That's 15 20rd mags with 5 pouches for $80- $2 a mag. |

I'm awfully reluctant to use the Gen. 1 Mags in my Gen. 2. Believe me I wish that Gen. 2's were as cheap. A lot of guys say they don't have issues but then some say they do. Makes me leery is all.
Can anyone shed light? |

If you cut the base pad in half... they hold 25 rounds. |

FWIW
My Gen II and a friend's Gen II both work flawless with Gen I mags. |

My Gen 2 works flawlessly with gen 1 20's and 30's. works just as well with the baseplates cut to plus 4 as well. I now have a ton of mpx mags. The mag pouches are pretty nice as well.

Ditto on my experience. I have 3 Gen 1 mags that are pretty much useless in my Gen 2 MPX with my 147 and 158 gr ammo. With the Gen 2 mag it becomes my favorite suppressed firearm. View Quote My 158's are ball and have the same dimensions visually as my 124 ball ammo and feed all the same. Regardless of mag generation. I had some issues early on with a few F2F's, once the mag was used a few times they all disappeared. Cleaning this thing after shooting suppressed SUCKS. |

I was running winny and lawman 147. Win left everything filthy.

On my gen 2 I had one gen2 mag that came with the gun. And then bought one more when on sale.
Then the 3pk 30 rounders were on sale so I bought 2 sets and sold my gen2s and was pretty much even. And the gen1s work perfectly fine on my gen2 |

Has anyone tried the opposite direction? Running Gen 2 mags in a Gen 1 MPX?

Free shipping today from Sig. no mags available but they had the MPX mag holders (belt) in stock as of this am. If your stocking up on mags you really ought to pick up a few of the mag holders. They are the best option on the market imo and at $4.99 can't be beat.

I thought Gen 1 mags worked fine in my gun, too, until the first time I tried using them in a match.

They got more in the next day after. Bought them out. I didn't buy those ones. Was tempted to though. I'm curious what the profit margin is for these mags. Supposedly made by lancer. View Quote |
