Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - M44 Mosin Red Dot

Looking to put a red dot on my M44 Mosin

I just had a rock solid industries mount put on
and now i just need a sight.

I am concerned that the 7.62 x 54 will eventually kill most sights and i am thinking an aimpoint ML2 or M2 is the answer.  I have seen shooters run these on M1a rifles.

Any suggestions or experience with this please?

I think you’d get by with a good vortex crossfire or strikefire II.

I had a strikefire on a saiga-12 and semi auto 308 and lasted a LONNG time before I ended up selling it.   The forward recoil of a 308 is hard on optics and a 12 gauge with slugs and buck to my shoulder recoils as much as an M44.

A micro dot like the crossfire or a holosun would probably be the slimmest option.
