Just finished installing my Colt M203 on a FN M16A4 upper with KAC M5 RAS. I am using a M4 QD mount. The trigger guard pushes the M203 forward, but I noticed that there's a slight forward/backward when I hold it (like a spring). Is this normal or should this be tight?

No, it should be tight. Do you have a barrel stop installed? It's a separate piece that goes in front of the top section of the RAS (against the handguard cap) and wasn't included in commercial packages of the M5 RAS, just the military packages.

Ah yes. I have one of those but removed it because the M4 QD mount I'm using wasn't quite fitting in.

It will. It's super tight.

Quick picture reference of the M4 QD mount interfacing with the M5 RAS adapter.

Thank you. Very clear pics. Do you mount it before putting the top rail on? Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong.

You have to install the barrel stop before putting the top rail on, but I install/remove my 203 QD with the top rail in place. You need to have the appropriate spacing slot selected on your "ninja star".

I have one of those rail systems laying around somewhere. I wonder if I have the spacer
