Is there a good scope mount available for the M1 carbine or are there just less crappy ones?

Ultimak I have one and it's good.

I have the Ultimak on mine. It is a rail replacing the upper handguard, so you mount a red dot or a long eye relief, Scout scope. I like it and it demonstrates for me that the M-1 carbine is a lot more accurate than it is generally given credit for.

In the early 90’s my father used to have a scope on his M1... it was a steel mount “made in Spain” that replaced the rear sight

I would try the Ultimak also (my plan for 1 of my Carbines down the road). That way if you have a USGI model you can avoid drilling the receiver.

You have to modify your stock so it might be worth getting a 2nd stock also, I plan on turning one of my Carbines into this down the road.

 

I have the stock, just waiting for the Kung Flu lockdown to pass to buy the rail and then decide what red dot I want to mount.



It'll end up on the rifle on the far right, a "Howa" made in Japan model that has been through a full rebuild by Fulton Armory

Weaver used to make one. Everytime I shoot this thing I am surprised at it's accuracy. It is legitimately a sub 2moa rifle and that is being generous.

That is exactly what I want.
