Saw a post on Rossi Rifleman Forum that a gent contacted Rossi CS a few days ago and they confirmed that the M92 models have started shipping again. Wonder how long it will take to get them in the pipeline and at places like Bud's? Their website lists 357mag, 44mag, 45 Colt, 44-40, and 454 Casull so I wonder if they are going to be producing all those calibers in the new runs.
I also wonder how the machining and QC will be. Could go well or it could be Remlin all over again. |

I will immediatly purchase a brand new 454 casull stainless carbine, instead of being raped on GB for a used one.

|
[#3]
What happened that they stopped making them? Why were they not feeding the pipeline?
|
|
[#4]
I could be tempted by a 357 or 44 - particularly if they can be threaded for a can, or, god forgive and the angels sing, somehow fitted with an integral.

I hope the QC is good. I could go for one in .44-40 to go with my .357.

Picked up a new 357 16" blued yesterday. Fit and finish are outstanding. My dealer said his distributor got about 60 various models and sold out in 1 1/2 days.

I think they moved production and had to setup in new facility, causing lag in production. |

Good, hopefully they make the 16" stainless .454 again. View Quote I hope they step it up & make one in 460S&W or better yet 500S&W! Since it seems 454 Casull & 460 S&W have the same operating pressures (if I'm incorrect please correct me) would it be feasible to just ream the Casull up to fit 460 S&W ? |

This thread is making me happy and my toys account is gonna take a beating. I've been wanting a Rossi R9250203, a R9252203 , and a 16" or 20" in .454 Casull. I didn't know that the halt in production was temporary and thought that maybe I missed out.

Great to hear. Can't wait to trade in my 1894 in .44 for something that actually groups instead of patterns like a shotgun. My Trapper M92 in .357 is one of the guns I'll never think of getting rid of.

Walmart has them!
Just saw a .357 & .44. Asking 595. They looked very nice! |

I'm really wanting a .44, either an SBR or a 16", to suppress. I might have to go look at one of these. Anyone have a suggestion for a good gunsmith that can do that kind of work?
I have a couple of rifles i need to sell first but I'm lazy so it might be a while. |

Good news that they are coming back in stock. Now if I can decide on a caliber. Not sure if I want to go with 357, 44 mag, or 45LC. It might come down to what the store has when I get there.

I'll have to keep my eye out for the new Rossi's if they are already showing up. I'm trying to sell or trade my 9mm Vector, but now I am torn between a lever action 357 magnum or a different 9mm PCC.
I reload for both and my Obsidian 45 is rated for a 357 mag. Do I hold out for a factory threaded Marlin or find a new Rossi and have it threaded to fulfill my inner tactical cowboy? Do I continue my search for a 9mm CMMG Guard, which I already have 15 glock magazines for and has arguably a little more practicality? So many choices |

I'm after a 20" round barreled model in 357. It can be blued or color case hardened. I want a Rossi but would take a Winchester/Miroku, Chiappa or Uberti. Admittedly, the much higher price of these latter makes puts me off.

I am after what I think is a very basic 1892 design. Apparently, they are not available from Rossi.
I've been looking at all the auction and sales sights. I can't find anything that isn't $1200 or more or 24" octagonal barrel or... There also seems to be too many model 1873 on the market in 357. This model is the one everyone here says is too weak for use with 357. Did they over-produce them? Are they letting demand build up for the 1892's? Are we in for a price hike when they resurface? |

Haha. Got tired of waiting for them AND the Marlin 357/38, and grabbed a very nice Remlin in 30-30 today.
I sure hope the quality is good on these. I want a 38/357 for shooting steel in the pistol bays with 38. |

Rossi, Remlin, doesn't matter. I heard this. got am email that. Oh, and it's listed on their web sight. Blah, blah, blah.
Sorry but I've heard it all, and I'll believe it when I SEE IT. |

[#43]
I went to GunBroker last night. They had one Rossi, used.
There are a TON of Winchester 1873's at twice the price of a Rossi but in 357, well, ... it's the wrong rifle design for that cartridge. Am I right on that point? |
|
[#44]
That's the common thinking on this.
But I've been talking to a lot of SASS shooters and others with 1873's that say it is BS. They say the better steel used today makes it fine to shoot .357Mag rounds. Maybe not super hot rounds, but any factory seems to be okay. And doesn't seem to matter if they are Ulberti or Winchester, they work fine. Go talk to the people over at the Henry rifle forums. I hope they are still updating their catalog as they are only showing two models for the 92's. Both are identical models with 20 inch round barrels in stainless steel, one in 357 mag and the other in 44 mag. I was really hoping to get one with either a 24 inch or 20 inch octagonal barrel in either 45lc or 357 mag and use a tang sight.

I see five different models on the Rossi web site, more if you consider the cartridge options for each model - stainless and blued; 16" and 20" barrels; and one 16" with a large loop.
The Rossi R92 Round Barrel delivers shorter, lighter versions of their big brothers with 16 or 20 carbine models. Available in .38/.357, .44 Mag., .45 Colt, .44-40 Win and .454 Casull. The R92 Round Barrel comes in two finish options - Blue and Stainless. All R92 Round Barrel models feature crescent buttplates and an extended front sight. For brush hunting and wilderness packing, Rossi R92 carbine .454 Casull features optional magazine-tube loading and recoil absorbing butt pad. The problem seems to be they are made of Unobtanium or are vaporware. |
