Right now I run a Ferro Slickster with RMA 1155s. It's heavy, even with how well the Slickster and cumberbund distribute the weight.

I'm looking to stay under $800-ish, but don't wanna go much higher if I can avoid it.

I'd like multicurve if possible, and under 6 pounds per 10x12 plate.

I was thinking of just getting Hesco L210s and calling it a day, but I see the new M210s from Hesco are out, and I can get a set for like $780 shipped....and they're kinda a Multicurve version of the L210 it seems?

I just wanted to get some input from outside parties who probably know a lot more about armor than me.

I just want to stop the most common rifle threats. Not worried about .308 Win, but if it stops it, cool.

Mainly concerned about the 5.56x45 variations (855, 193,  etc) and AKs in 62x39 and 5.45.

RMA 1092s would fit that bill, they're like $280/plate for SAPI Medium and 4.5lb a plate. Another option would be Tencate CR3200SAs, which Saber Solutions has for like $470/plate -- they're about 1/8" thinner and a touch heavier than the RMAs.

I went with Scorpion Gear level IIIa extreme. 4.7lbs and multi curve sapi. They are rated for all  above and 855a1. It was a month wait!

I would second the recommendation of RMA 1092s.

Exactly what you're looking for, 260ish per plate, and in stock NOW, ship QUICK.

I went through your same thought exercise and decided on Hesco M210s through Saber Solutions. I will be running them in a JPC 2.0, so size and weight were a consideration. If I didn't procrastinate, I probably would have gone L210. The multi curve attribute sealed the deal for me. I haven't received mine yet, but I am likely in that first batch that patriot_man is referencing.

I went a little different than most on the lighter plates. I wanted to try uarm and have been happy. About 6lbs total for both plates in medium sapi at .8” thick. They will stop ak, 308, and 193. They will not work on green tip but I have heavier plates for that. I mainly wanted a light weight setup for ak and mild 556 threats.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Upon further research, the RMA 1092s are 1.2 inches thick. That is THICCC.

Despite how light they are, I don't want plates that are so thick, so I'm gonna go the route of the Hescos.
