Lake City is good stuff.  A buck a round is not that great of a deal.

I have no clips, that's what I'm considering it

Is that old ammo good to go?

1969 or 1972 is not old in the surplus ammo world.  That's practically new.

Assuming it was stored properly, shouldn't give you any problems.

Pass that up man, last week aimsurplus and a couple other places had some surplus 30cal 192 eds for $100-120 on enblocs.

The enbloc clips are usually $1.00 each. Some places want more. The ammo is designed for the M1 Garand but accuracy is not it's strong suit.

If you belong to a CMP affiliated rifle club it's a lot cheaper, but the rules require that you shoot it at the tournament, not take it home with you. The brass and enbloc clips are yours to keep after a match. Normal charge for the ammo to shoot a CMP match is $8.00 to $10.00 for 55 rounds of M1 ball.

46.0 to 47.0 grains of any 4895 powder and a 168 grain match bullet will put ball ammo to shame. I stopped buying ball 30 years ago.
