It looks like yours was first lightened by Marvin and later, by Mod 1. Is the 10oz weight a combination of both? I don't understand the logic of the upright projection near the front, seems to serve no purpose.
I was originally going to have mine cut like this, but it's needlessly difficult to align each of the milling operations with each other, starting with the forward assist cut.
Anyway, I scrapped it and decided to make the cuts lengthwise in the carrier, similar to how the carrier is machined in the first place.
Here's the first op done. I'm having the other carrier done the same, as well as a lengthwise lightening cut along the right side to both. These cuts are also quicker so any machine shop can probably do several carriers for an hour of shop time, maybe $75. Will post finished pics later.
