Anyone know how much can sticks past the hand guard on a typical 12" can? Best I can tell is it might be a little longer than 6"?

trying to build a 22lr mp5SD and want to match a "real" SD length on a form 1 can.

I feel ashamed my Google fu is so weak. Thanks in advance!

Pic with a 1.5" x 6" 3d printed mock-up sleeve, it feels and looks about right to me.
